Lots of speculation all over the internet that Genie Francis could be returning for a short stint. No Official Word but only time will tell.

On the Wikipedia page for Laura Spencer it lists these credits:
Genie Francis (1976–1982, 1983–1984, 1992–2002, 2006, 2008, 2010-)
and goes on to say:
"It was previously announced that Genie Francis has inked in a two-year deal to return to General Hospital and will first be seen on-screen again in December."
I really hope see comes back. I would like them to keep Luke and Tracy together and come up with something new for Laura. Just my opinion.
...once again... tease us with Laura on the canvas just to see her leave again.. ( they said ANOTHER SHORT STINT) :( Why cant she be on for at least a year... or 2 or 3, 4, 5....
