Rick Hearst OUT

According to ABC Soaps In Depth, Rick Hearst will be exiting General Hospital. His exit could be the rumored Murder Mystery we keep hearing about. Here is what they have to say.

"Soaps In Depth has learned that GENERAL HOSPITAL's Rick Hearst (Ric) is exiting the soap! Buzz is that Hearst — who was recently dropped to recurring status — will be returning to THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, where he previously played Whip in 2002. It's unknown if Hearst will be reprising his former role, and when contacted for a comment regarding the actor's return to B&B, a spokesperson declined to issue a confirmation or denial, saying only, "It's our policy not to comment on rumors." ABC, however, is confirming that Hearst will be leaving GH. "We're saddened for GH fans but personally thrilled for Rick. We wish him nothing but success. Rest assured that the character of Ric Lansing will have an exit you won't want to miss," says a GH spokesperson."

Fan Club President Wants You...

Greg Vaughn (Lucky) and Ric Hearst's (Ric) fan club president is urging fans to call the networks comment line.

Debby O'Connor issued the following statement:

"Hi everyone,

The message boards have been buzzing and my email has been inundated since late last week's article about both Rick and Greg possibly being put on recurring status or released from General Hospital. All I can say to you is that if you are unhappy with anything going on, story line or otherwise, you should make your voices heard. And there is no time like the present.

I encourage you to call the comment line and/or write to the executives in charge of the show, as well as to the magazines. Please keep your comments positive and to the point, supporting whom you choose but absolutely not writing negative, demeaning comments about anyone you don't. That serves no purpose, and is not what either Rick or Greg would want.

The comment line number for General Hospital is 323-671-4583.

Thank you again for all of the love and support that you have shown for Rick and Greg. We appreciate it very, very much."

Ric Hearst Reaches Deal!!!

SOD is reporting that Rick Hearst (Ric) has reached a deal with GH and will be on the show for the foreseeable future! Hearst's status had been a question mark for the last several months. In July, he told Digest, "I've got three months left on my contract and we'll see if it's in the minds of our creators if I'll get a chance to go further. It would be nice." Rumor has it that a treacherous romance with Claudia (Sarah Brown) lies ahead for Ric. "It is not our policy to comment on storylines," reminds the spokesperson.

Rick Hearst Makes Comment about Contract Status.

"I will gladly make a comment. It is indeed what it is. My contract is up for renewal in October. I currently have not heard from the show, which doesn't mean I am taking off and leaving. It is very funny. I have heard "Rick Hearst is not planning on coming back after his vacation." As far as I know, I am coming back. My first day I have to take my shirt off! My last six days are going to be eating fish and vegetables. Truthfully, I do not know what will happen. I am optimistic....I don't think either of us want to part ways. At th same time, communication has to be open in order to be ascertained...as to where everything is at. We will see what happens, I guess!"
